Hey Ramsey Classroom teachers! You've got free access to the new Ramsey Solutions Borrowed Future documentary. This documentary uncovers the dark side of the student loan industry and exposes how the system is built to work against you. Watch the film with your students and use our guides to get the conversation going!
How do I access the film?
First log into your teacher account at www.ramseyclassroom.com. There will be a toggle at the top middle of your teacher dashboard page. Look for "Classes I'm Teaching" and click that to select the Borrowed Future option. From there you can watch a trailer, play the film, and download the teacher guide and student PDF.
How long will I have access?
Teachers will have indefinite access. As long as you have a Ramsey Classroom teacher account, we are including access to the documentary film for your personal use or to show to your students in class.
Can my students access this from home?
Students are unable to watch the film from home through their Ramsey Classroom account. This is an exclusive benefit only available through your teacher account. However, the film is available through major streaming outlets (Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Google Play) if they want to watch from home with their parents or family, or on YouTube (with commercials).
Can I show the whole film in one class? (How long is it?)
Borrowed Future is 1 hour 28 minutes in total run time. The teacher guide breaks the film down into three parts and helps guide you through three class sessions, including time-stamps of where in the documentary to start for each day.
How does this integrate with the Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum?
The Borrowed Future documentary is a great companion piece to our Foundations in Personal Finance high school curriculum when discussing the topics of Credit and Debt (National Standard 3: Apply strategies to avoid or correct debt management problems) and Financial Decision Making (National Standard 1: Recognize the responsibilities associated with personal financial decisions), and pairs well with the College Planning chapter.
