Hey teachers!
We're so excited to see you in our live Professional Development (PD) webinars! This is your chance to learn about the curriculum, get prepared to teach the new Foundations curriculum that you'll be using in the classroom and leave feeling confident. We want you to ask questions, get feedback and ideas, and know how to apply this curriculum to your specific teaching environment in your school.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I sign up for the training sessions?
If your school has paid for our Professional Development training for teachers, there will be a toggle at the top middle of your teacher dashboard page at Ramsey Classroom. Look for "Classes I'm Teaching" and click that menu. If available you will see an option to switch to the "Professional Development" dashboard.
This will open a new tab or window with our Professional Development dashboard. From there you will be able to select your training, register for an upcoming session, review training resources, etc.
How do these sessions work?
These PD sessions are meant to be interactive. That means, as we move through the content, you’ll be able to ask questions and get feedback, ideas, and advice. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident applying this curriculum to your specific teaching environment in your school.
Sessions are hosted on Zoom, and you will receive confirmation and reminder emails.
How long is each session?
Plan for each session to be about an hour and a half, with the last portion devoted to specific questions you may have about individualized situations at your school or in your classroom.
What if I can’t attend these times?
If you can’t attend during these dates or times, don’t stress! We’ll be adding more in the future. Don't see a date that works for your schedule? Just check back for updates.
We schedule the live webinars at various times during the week. Some days we have them earlier in the day and others later in the afternoon. Generally speaking we don't schedule them to start before 9am and no later than 3pm. These are central time starts since that is where we are based. I know that adds an extra complication for schools that are in other time zones.
I would suggest bringing this up to your leader at the school to help you find the time to attend. Hopefully there is enough perceived value in the training that they would allow you to participate during the regular school day. Some schools will allow teachers to use an extended planning period or even get a substitute for part of the day to cover for the teacher allowing you time to participate in the training.
How do I change my date?
To change your date, go back to the event page and click "Register" to select a future date.
What if I’m not teaching this yet?
If you are not using the curriculum until a later date, feel free to wait to register closer to your teaching start date. The 101 - Session 1 training is designed for teachers that have not started yet to get them familiar with our platform, the curriculum, teacher resources, setting up classes, etc.
Are the sessions recorded?
The live Professional Development webinars are not available for replay. If you miss a session please go back and register for a future date to attend live.
What if I don't see the PD option on my dashboard?
Call our sales team at 800-781-8914 to verify if your school has purchased the training for you. If your school has purchased PD for you, it will be listed at the top middle of your teacher dashboard page on the "Class I'm Teaching" menu.
